Teel Plastics receives Processor of the Year at the 2023 Plastics News Executive Forum

Jul 30, 2023

Jerry Pritchett, CEO of Teel Plastics, accepts the 2022 Processor of the Year award on March 1 at the PN Executive Forum in Clearwater Beach, Fla.

Clearwater Beach, Fla. — Teel Plastics LLC, a Baraboo, Wis.-based extruder and injection molder, is Plastics News' 2022 Processor of the Year.

The winner was named March 1 at the Plastics News Executive Forum in Clearwater Beach.

Teel Plastics stood out as a leader in all of the Processor of the Year criteria. The company previously won the PN Excellence Award for industry and public service in 2019, and the PN Excellence Award for customer relations in 2021.

This year employee relations, financial performance and technological innovation were also strengths.

Processor of the Year is the most prestigious honor in the North American plastics processing sector. PN has given out the award annually since 1996. As the winner, Teel Plastics received the Bregar Trophy, named in honor of Bill Bregar, the Plastics News senior reporter who coordinated the awards for many years.

The award is sponsored by the Washington-based Plastics Industry Association.

Teel and all the finalists will be profiled in the March 13 issue of Plastics News.

This year the other finalists all received PN Excellence Awards, recognizing outstanding achievement in specific Processor of the Year criteria:

Medbio LLC, a medical molder and contract manufacturer based in Grand Rapids, Mich., won the PN Excellence Award for Customer Relations.

Redline Plastics LLC, a rotational molder, heavy-gauge thermoformer, composite fabricator and cut-and-sew company in Manitowoc, Wis., won the PN Excellence Award for Employee Relations.

Radius Packaging, a blow molder and injection molder of rigid packaging in New Berlin, Wis., won the PN Excellence Award for Industry and Public Service.

The Processor of the Year competition is open to all companies engaged in North American plastics processing for at least the past five years.

In addition to the Processor of the Year awards, Plastics News also honored Hoffer Plastics Corp., a South Elgin, Ill.-based injection molder, with the Sustained Excellence Award. That award is open only to previous Processor of the Year winners. Hoffer Plastics, a family-owned company, was the 2012 Processor of the Year.
